The organization makes every effort to keep its doors open to all levels of religious observance and affiliation. Connecting people to the rich heritage of the culture is the Academy’s main goal. This is done by a friendly course structure that deals with interesting subjects and is taught by knowledgeable and friendly instructors.
There is no defined academic calendar or semester system, so Angelinos can begin studying at JLA at any time. Registration is required and some courses require a minimum number of participants to ensure a meaningful experience for all involved. Also, individuals are encouraged to sample classes free of charge in order to identify the class that is right for them. Particular interests are often satisfied through a wide range of offered programs, including such varied topics as You Are What You Write, What Do Jews Believe? And True Kabbala.
Scholarships are available for those unable to pay tuition, ensuring that all who are interested are able to participate in the rich rewarding adult education classes that deepen our connection to our past and to Israel, but also deepen our connection to each other.
