SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA ISRAEL CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
The Southern California Israel Chamber of Commerce is the major non-governmental and non-profit organization dedicated to fostering the relationship between Southern California and Israel. Over the past twelve years they have worked to create an extensive network of companies, executives, and political leaders to further harvest this positive bilateral alliance between the two areas. Primarily, the SCICC has served as a facilitator of joint venture programs between the two countries.
Through networking events, mentorship programs, investment forums, educational seminars, and industry-specific meetings, the SCICC contributes to stronger business alliances between Southern California and Israel. The organization engages a diverse range of industries including the following: agriculture, biotechnology, environmental, technology, real estate, biotechnology, digital media, gifts, jewelry, fine foods and wines, tourism, telecommunications, entertainment, etc.
The 2007 board of directors includes environmental consultant Teri Cohan Link, author and Israeli Defense Force veteran Amotz Brandes, and immigration lawyer David Gardner.
“The SCICC is an essential gateway for individuals and companies of all sizes who currently conduct business in Southern California and/or Israel; plan to initiate or expand into these areas; seek strategic trade and investment partners; or simply want to stay informed about their respective business and investment climates and opportunities.” Source.
The SCICC recently co-sponsored a seminar on homeland security providing law enforcement and security professionals from all over the world an inside look into the security operations of some of Israel’s most secured and protected environments including mass-transit hubs, airports, seaports, border crossings, government facilities, and more.
