MARKSTONE CAPITAL BUILDS LARGEST ISRAELI ASSET MANAGEMENT BRAND
Prisma investments, previously A. Solomon Investments, Ltd and the Pekan Mutual Fund arm of Bank Hapoalim, is currently in talks to acquire several Provident fund businesses from Bank Hapoalim and Bank Leumi. The Israeli firm hopes to reach critical mass as a result of these mergers and become the largest independent asset management fund in the region. To that end, Prisma has recently held extensive talks with Goldman Sachs, London, offering them a stake in the newly combined company. Since being acquired by Markstone Capital Partners in 2005, Prisma has undergone several repositioning projects in the hopes of becoming the leading asset management brand in Israel. In a remarkable display of synergistic brand management, Markstone, has implemented their core rebranding strategies simultaneously.

A high caliber management team has been assembled to work along side of an existing core of local managers. Dov Kotler, is the former CEO of the Union Bank of Israel and Israel Credit Cards (VISA) and was recruited to Prisma by Elliot Broidy and Markstone. The former CEO of PKN Mutual funds has also joined the Prisma team, along with a new CIO, Yaron Pitaro. Pitaro brings years of financial experience to the team, as he was previously CIO of Leumi Provident Funds. Prisma has undertaken an aggressive marketing approach to make their emerging brand the premier asset management firm in Israel. Prisma, along with Markstone, has also streamlined and reconfigured a multitude of services and product lines. Sub-advisory agreements with leading financial institutions including Goldman Sachs, Credit Suisse, Capital International and UBS that have also been negiotiated by the Prisma imprint lend strength to the young firm and marks it as a company to watch for in the future. Broidy’s bold vision is the heart of this deal, which serves to strengthen economic ties between Israel and the southland.
